Parents and Players,
In an effort to keep our players safe we want to reiterate our injury protocol with some updates. To be handled as outlined below:
Injury prior to practice or after seeking medical attention.
• If your player is injured prior to practice or has sought medical attention, we need to know immediately. That communication will be directed to the head coach, and he will brief our medically trained staff and we will handle according to the Physician’s guidance. We will not let your player return until they are medically cleared and we are provided documentation stating so. Your player is required to be at practice as usual unless medically advised to stay home. Attendance during this time helps your player keep up to speed with any changes or new concepts we are implementing.
Injury on the field.
• If injured on the field or in practice the player will be examined by our medically trained staff and deemed safe to play or they will be asked or sit out for the remainder of practice. At that point we will advise the parent if we feel there is medical attention needed.
• If the player is told to sit out the remainder of the practice or game they will not be allowed to continue, no exception. (We have had players try to play after being told they are done for the day.)
Keeping in mind that this is a contact sport we know you will not always feel 100% as a football player but our players health and safety is our #1 priority. Communication is our key to success, your cooperation and open lines of communication will ensure a successful season for our players. Please reach out with any questions.
